Volunteering Hours: Approximately 1300 hours (including committee meetings, information session, design workshops,  preparation workshop, follow-up duties, sharing and ceremony)
Backgrounds: architects, engineers, social workers, designers, photographers, marketing executives, businessman, high school students

Aims of Program

This project is designed for youth from Wong Tai Sin District in Hong Kong. Through the act of active and participatory design, teenagers are expected to learn basic design techniques, approach to make a design solution, the use of tools and construction skills through 5 progressive workshops.

The programme was co-organized by IDEA Project and 11 local NGOs in the community with the support of HKSAR government and district council. We, act as a facilitator, to bring  skills to the youth and let their spirits to light up the community.

The outline was designed by 2 project coordinators and facilitated by 10 volunteers, with additional design input by 30 local teens, as well as advice from corresponding social workers and construction workers.
